Congratulations on your move to MSP!
You may have heard that it’s cold here. Well, sometimes it is, but even MN has summer and the past few winters have left winter sports fans lacking the white stuff (snow) that is needed for most of those fun things. We also are the Land of 10,000 Lakes and our cities boast many recreational lakes in all directions. Now, most anyone from the Twin Cities would insist that you must Go Up North to Go To The Lake, but we have many fine lakes in and around MSP. Aside from the lakes in Minneapolis (Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, Harriet) there are major lakes in every direction from downtown and many located in the suburbs. This is also where you will find the most expensive real estate, since everybody wants to be on the lake.
Aside from expensive lake side living, there are many wonderful neighborhoods that allow easy access to many lakes without the expense of owning lakeshore. Literally in every direction you can find public parks and recreation areas for all kinds of activities. Minnesotans love to be outdoors year-round and our public and private facilities reflect this.
